Five top costume designers will reveal secrets behind their projects when they join Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&A event with 2024 Emmy Awards and other TV awards contenders. They will participate in two video discussions to premiere on Tuesday, May 21, at 4:00 p.m. PT; 7:00 p.m. ET. Abbott Elementary
Synopsis: A workplace comedy centered around a group of dedicated teachers – and an oblivious principal – in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life.
Bio: Susan Michalek’s career has included “Hello Ladies,” “Last Man Standing,” “Raised By Wolves” and “The Kids Are Alright.”
Feud: Capote vs. the Swans
Synopsis: An anthology series centering on famous feuds, including the latest focused on acclaimed writer Truman Capote and the New York elite ladies.
Bio: Lou Eyrich was a five-time Emmy winner for “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story.” Other nominations have included “Glee,” “Feud: Bette and Joan,” “Pose,” “Hollywood,” “The Politician,” “Monster” and “The Watcher.”
Shogun
Synopsis: When a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village, Lord Yoshii Toranaga discovers secrets that could tip the scales of power and devastate his enemies.
Bio: Carlos Rosario’s career has included “The Last Ship,” “The Girl in the Spider’s Web,” “Beirut” and “Don’t Breathe 2.”
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Synopsis: A prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, the show follows the crew of the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike.
Bio: Bernadette Croft’s career has included “Cardinal,” “Happy Place,” “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Ginny & Georgia.”
The Wheel of Time
Synopsis: Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey.
Bio: Sharon Gilham’s career has included “Black Mirror,” “The Nun,” “The Stranger” and “Finding Alice.”
