LeBron James in attendance for Game 4
James showed up to watch his former team in the second-round of the playoffs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are without Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen in Game 4 against the Boston Celtics, but LeBron James is back in the building he called home for 11 seasons. Unfortunately for the Cavs, he won’t be in uniform.

James received a standing ovation from the crowd when he walked out of the tunnel to his courtside seat. That reception crescendoed when Cavs’ arena host, Ahmaad Crump, introduced him to the crowd after a video tribute.

James’s season ended after the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets. He averaged 26.8 points, 8.8 assists, and 6.8 rebounds in the five-game series. This was up from the 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds he averaged in the regular season.
James has a player option for the 2024-25 season. Even if he doesn’t pick up the option, he could re-sign with Los Angeles. This appearance will, however, stir the rumor mill about a possible second return to his hometown team.
This comes on the heels of his son, Bronny James, being cleared for the NBA Draft. The Cavs have the 20th pick in the upcoming draft.
