I live in one of the world’s smallest homes – there’s no windows & I have to the loo by my bed but it’s only £100 a week
A MAN has shared an insight into what life is like living in one of the world’s smallest homes.
Travel lover Ryan is currently living in a 100 sq ft apartment in South Korea, which has no windows to the outside world.
The apartment is 100 sq feet[/caption] The toilet is next to the bed[/caption]Sharing a video of the apartment to social media Ryan revealed that the tiny home consists of a small single bed in one corner of the room, and a toilet and shower in the other corner.
At the end of the bed, there is a little desk, and hanging from the ceiling is a washing line.
Separating the bedroom from the bathroom is a transparent sheet of glass, meaning there would be no privacy if Ryan were ever to go invite a guest round to his apartment.
In the bathroom, the shower hangs in a corner above the sink.
“You can either was your hands or shower, you can’t do both”, he said.
In one of the apartment’s walls, there is a tiny window.
However, when Ryan opened it up, he revealed that it just looks out onto the hallway of the apartment building, meaning that he gets no natural light into the room.
Attached to the ceiling, is an air vent, so that Ryan can breathe when he’s “low on oxygen”.
“There’s a full walk-in wardrobe”, Ryan joked, as he opened a tiny cupboard, that looked big enough to fit about three shirts in.
Hidden below the wardrobe is even a teeny fridge, although there is no kitchen in the apartment.
When Ryan is staying in his native US, he lives in his car to save cash.
However, whilst travelling in Korea he said that the £100 ($120) a week tiny home is the cheapest form of accommodation he can find.
He said: “I think for $120 with an entire apartment to myself with a bathroom and a shower, it’s not that bad”.
Ryan’s video, which was posted under the username @nomadicallyryan, has likely left many open-mouthed, as it has racked up over 1.2 million views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

Are tiny homes legal in the UK?
TINY houses can be UK regardless of whether they are on a trailer base or not. The legality of tiny houses is all to do with where it is and what you use it for.
If you want to put your tiny house in the back garden of the home that you own, and the overall size of your tiny house does not exceed 19.8m x 6.7m (65ft x 22ft), then good news! You do not require planning permission.
Tiny houses that fit within these dimensions and are constructed on trailer bases are legally classified as caravans, which means you can legally park them within the curtilage of your home without planning permission.
If this is your plan, then it is a legal requirement that you only use the tiny house as additional living space, like an office, a gym, or a studio, but you cannot rent out the space to a tenant.
For those of you who live on farmland, what is defined as curtilage can be complicated. In these cases, and under any circumstances where you are unsure, we recommend that you speak to your local planning officer.
You can put a tiny house on your land as a temporary structure for 28 days, but for any longer than this we recommend that you speak to your local planning officer as different permissions will be required.
