Record turnout shows momentum is growing in Royal Cork Summer Keelboat Series.
Over 30 boats went racing last Thursday and Friday night in what was the 2nd week of the may League. Incredibly we had the largest number of boats racing on a Summer Series Friday night in over 10 years! What a remarkable achievement from our members!
Let’s keep the momentum going and hopefully we’ll see more and more boats on the water.
The conditions were light on both nights and there was a distinctive taste of summer in the air. On Thursday night Fiona Young’s “North Star” reigned supreme in Spin IRC, with Ria Lyden’s “Ellida” winning in Echo. The club 1720 won Whitesail IRC and Pat Vaughan took home the glory on “Aramis”in Echo.
As always, thanks to Amy, Anne and their teams for looking after us so well after racing, to Sean Hanly for doing the results and the race management teams of Ria Lyndon, Kevin Lane and Richard Leonard for providing 2 nights of excellent racing.
