One dead, one airlifted in Pittstown motorcycle crash
PITTSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on State Route 67 in Pittstown on Saturday. Police say Matthew Disorda (28, Hoosick Falls) was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Saturday, around 11:33 p.m., troopers responded to a motorcycle crash with reports of severe injuries. An investigation found that prior to the crash, multiple people were trying to free a disabled car that was struck on the shoulder of State Route 67.
Police say the vehicle was freed and stopped in the eastbound lane of the roadway. A motorcycle, being driven by Disorda, was driving eastbound and struck the car. Police say Disorda was declared dead at the scene.
Police say the collision pushed the disabled car into its owner, who was standing outside of the car at the time. They were airlifted to Albany Medical Center where they remain in critical but stable condition.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
