GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Gloversville and Johnstown Fire Departments responded to a fire at 7 Van Wyck Street in Gloversville around 11:56 Sunday night. Gloversville Fire Chief Thomas Groff says no one was injured.

Both departments responded to a fire in the rear involving a two-story porch that could've been exposed to 5 Van Wyck. Upon arrival, firefighters were told people may have been on the second-floor apartment.

After a search, it was found all occupants got out safely. Firefighters say flaming debris came down on a hose and melted a hole in it, rendering it useless.

A weak fire hydrant on the Corner of S. Judson and Vanwyck Street also caused issues for the firefighters. Eventually, the fire was brought under control.

The building is a two-family home with eight total occupants. Three adults were assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
