Morning Briefing: Senga Dealing With Command Inconsistencies in Bullpen Sessions
Good morning, Mets fans!
Per Anthony DiComo of MLB, Kodai Senga is still dealing with command issues. In an interview with Carlos Mendoza, the manager noted Senga doesn’t feel injured but is still at a point where he could get re-injured with the inconsistencies in his command. It appears he will not progress with his rehab until his command is 100% to avoid the risk of re-injury.
The Mets remain at Citi Field on Monday as they welcome the Philadelphia Phillies for two games. Sean Manaea (2-1, 3.31 ERA) will take the mound in game one for the Mets at 7:10 pm ET. The Mets lineup will face Cristopher Sanchez (2-3, 3.22 ERA) for the Phillies.

The Mets defeated the Braves in walk-off fashion on Sunday night. Brandon Nimmo, who was not in the starting lineup due to right intercostal irritation, felt ready to go. He came in to pinch-run in the seventh, remained in the game in left field in the eighth, and then, in the ninth, was the hero of the night with a walk-off two-run home run that sent the Mets past the Braves for the 4-3 win!
