Rivals EastEnders, Emmerdale and Casualty were in the running, with medical drama Casualty scooping the prize at last night’s ceremony.

It followed a year of change which saw original Casualty character Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) exit the BBC series.

While not nominated, the cast of Coronation Street appeared to enjoy a ‘Corrie Funday’ on the cobbles.

Multiple cast members took to social media and shared posts of loved ones joining them on set.

Alan Halsall, who has played mechanic Tyrone Dobbs since 1998, posed with daughter Sienna-Rae outside Webster’s autocentre, where Tyrone works.
