The E4 reality star shared some images of the surprise proposal, where a gathering of friends were assembled to celebrate her birthday. Jordan took his chance and got down on one knee before the delighted crowd.

Writing in the caption, Gemma who appeared overcome said:  “My soulmate, with our best friends at out our party for my birthday. In every way and in any lifetime Jordan its always going to be you.”

The hairdresser, who has two sons, Ozzy, 11 and Cash 4 from a previous relationship, appeared on the E4 show last year, where she was paired with Matt Murray in a destructive union that triggered her mental breakdown .

After leaving the show, Gemma claims she was coerced by producers and ‘slut shamed’ which left her on a downward spiral, suffering from panic attacks.

She also revealed that she’d initially signed up to appear on the show, to escape from a decade long addiction to cocaine.

She told The Cabin Recovery podcast: “The first stages where I was falling apart was probably my comedown from my addiction and I should never have been on that show.

“I should never have been cast by them, certainly not. Psychiatrists could obviously tell that I was a bit of a mess.”

The business owner revealed that she was hoping to find a nice man and get clean during filming.

“I thought, ‘I need to stop at least before I go on the show because it’s not going to be accessible. But as you know with addiction you just swap one of the other. Although there wasn’t cocaine around, there certainly was a lot of alcohol in those big glass decanters.”

She admitted: “I lost my home in the middle of all of that. I became homeless through my addiction… 12 years we were in that house.

“We went to a homeless place, luckily I got back on my feet financially and I’m able to afford a beautiful home for us again.

The Devon-born star admits that losing the roof over her head was a “turning point” which forced her to seek help.

She applied herself to the 12 step programme and has now been clean and sober for over 12 months.

Sine meeting her Jordan Bishop, Gemma is in a better place, she now has a successful hairdressing salon, Gem Rose Hair and is enjoying a more clean living lifestyle.

Indeed she certainly seems to have found her happy place when she welcomed her baby in February, announcing the news on social media, she wrote:

She wrote on instagram: “Franklin James Anthony Bishop

“Our boy. Born on February the 25th with Jordan and his mum by my side and three amazing midwives, Rosie, Grace and Caroline at Exeter hospital.

“We had a hard birth and harder time after but doing amazingly now, we are so grateful to the neonatal team and Exeter hospital as a whole.”

Now that she’s set to marry the love of her life, it seems that everything’s coming up Gemma Roses’.
