HE may have had the best intentions – but one DIY enthusiast has left his girlfriend horrified with his attempt of renovating their garden.

Mum-of-two Justine took to TikTok to reveal how her man had ”absolutely ruined” the family’s massive outdoor space, which had a lot of ”potential”.

According to the mortified parent, one of the main reasons they’d purchased the property was because it’s an ”end plot”, as well as the ”perfect” garden that was ”huge”.

However, a whopping two years later after the keen DIY enthusiast had started the transformation process, the garden’s become what some have brutally described as a ”knacker’s yard”.

”One day he woke up and decided that he was gonna knock a whole wall down – he got a hammer and just started knocking. Literally, just bricks everywhere,” Justine showed the horrific aftermath in the video.

The next project the bloke came up with was chopping all of the trees down, before arranging his mate to dig up all over the garden.

”Just left piles and piles of mud in the garden, with no absolutely no plan what to do with it.”

Ever since the digger came around, Justine and her boyfriend have had one skip – but the project’s since been put on a pause, with ”nothing being done to that garden”.

Although there was one bonus – the shed being knocked down – the rest of the glow-down has been a total disaster, as Justine revealed that there was even grass growing on the sky-high piles of mud.

”I am embarrassed. My neighbours must think ‘What the hell?’.

”But stay tuned because it is gonna be a good garden transformation”, Justine remained hopeful.

Sharing the disaster on her page, the mum-of-two chuckled in the caption: ”Transformation pending.”

Since being posted on the platform, the clip has taken the internet by storm, winning Justine more than a whopping 722k views in just two days.

Just as horrified, hundreds flocked to comments to share their thoughts and to slam the boyfriend.

One exclaimed in sheer horror, writing: ”’He’s actually turned a decent garden into a knacker’s yard.

”Is he gonna buy horses for the back now?”

”It looked beautiful before. I would be fuming,” another couldn’t believe what they’d just seen.

Four cash-saving tips for gardening on a budget

CHEAP AND CHEERFUL

Opt for perennial plants to get the most bang for your buck. These last year after year, so you only pay once.

Horticulturist Chloe Moore, of GetIntoGardening.co.uk, said: “One of my favourite low-maintenance plants is lavender — you can pick up a small plant for around a fiver.

“Keep it in a pot or plant it in a border. Once the lavender is established, it needs very little water and no feeding.”

FEED THE EARTH: Coffee grounds provide a nutrient boost for soil.
If you don’t use them at home, try asking at your local coffee shop.

Many small outlets will happily give old grounds for free rather than bin them.

Old fruit, veg peelings and egg shells also provide food for plants. Instead of chucking them out, you could make a small compost heap or mix into soil.

PLANT A SEED: Seeds tend to be much cheaper to buy than plants.

Chloe tipped Wilko, B&M and The Range for the best bargains, and said: “If you have friends with a well-established garden, why not ask them for cuttings? This is called propagation. It’s a little more labour-intensive than simply buying a pot, but it’s still relatively easy and you won’t need to spend a penny.”

Once you have been given the cutting, you just need to keep it in a sunny spot indoors, in clean water. When roots start to form, it’s ready to plant.

SEASONAL SHOP: Head to the garden centre in late summer and early autumn, when they are most likely to clear and reduce the price of stock to make room for the next season.

Someone else reckoned: ”Trees are the best part!

”They add height and privacy. Gardens looks sooooo boring without trees.”

”You must have the patience of a saint,” a fourth penned.

After trolls raced to viciously slate the DIY super fan, Justine revealed she was no longer fuming and that the couple have ”a better plan” for the garden.

She explained the vision in the comments: ”We are getting another wall, we just wanting a bigger patio / seating area in front of the grass.”
