Marshall, Fish and Doyle-Hayes Back In Training
Nick Montgomery provided a team news update ahead of our cinch Premiership clash with Aberdeen on Sunday.
The Hibees host Aberdeen on Sunday 12 May, which kick starts a busy end to the 2023/24 campaign with three games in seven days.
Speaking to Hibs TV ahead of the fixture, Montgomery provided the latest injury update including the latest on David Marshall, Luke Amos and Will Fish who all missed last weekend’s clash with Ross County due to injury.
“Everyone is fit and available bar – Elie Youan and Lewis Miller. Luke Amos and David Marshall are both back in training, so the squad is looking healthier.
“David Marshall will be involved, Will Fish might be a doubt, but other than that everyone has been back in training – and with three games in a week we are going to need everybody.”
The other news is that Jake Doyle-Hayes could return before the end of the season. The 25-year-old midfielder has had a frustrating season through injury and has not featured since August 2023. Despite this, Montgomery is hoping to see Jake back in action before the end of the campaign.
“For Jake, it will be a big boost for his confidence. It has been a very frustrating and difficult time for him and he has needed the boys and everyone in the building at HTC to keep giving him confidence that he can get back before the end of the season.
“It is great to see Jake back training with the boys, you can see the quality he’s got and we are all hoping that we can get him some minutes before the end of the season so he can tick that box ahead of the off-season.
“The reality is, he will be like a new signing for us at the start of next year, so hopefully we can see Jake out there with a Hibs shirt on and I am sure the fans will appreciate that too.”
