Montgomery On Hanlon, Stevenson & Aberdeen Clash

0

Hibs Head Coach Nick Montgomery is predicting another tough test when Aberdeen visit Easter Road on Sunday afternoon – kick off at 3pm!

This will be the fifth meeting between the teams this season, and whilst both teams are disappointed to miss out on the top six – the Gaffer is still expecting an extremely competitive fixture.

“We have been away from home for a couple of games now, so we’re excited to be coming back to Easter Road.

“Preparations have been good and we have had a hard week of training. It will be a tough game, Aberdeen are a good side – they aren’t where they want to be, so they are similar to us from that perspective.

“But it is an opportunity to finish the season strong for both teams. Hopefully, we can get a good crowd who can get behind the boys and push us on until the end of the season.

“These next three games are really important and it is a good opportunity to rotate the squad between now and the end of the season.”

The Gaffer hinted that David Marshall will likely return for Sunday’s match with Aberdeen, and also gave an update on Luke Amos, Will Fish and Jake Doyle-Hayes in his latest press conference.

Whilst the final three games will give the Hibs Head Coach an opportunity to potentially rotate the team ahead of next season – this final week will be the last Hibs appearances for Club legends Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson after it was announced they will leave the Club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

“In my time working with Paul and Lewis it has been a pleasure”, Montgomery continued.

"They are two ultimate professionals and great Club men. They have shown great dedication and sacrifice for Hibs and everyone appreciates that.

“Moving forward, we wish them all the very best with the next stage in their careers and they will always be welcome at the Club. Hopefully we can finish the season well and give them a good send off.”
