From gastric band to jaw jabs that ‘changed the shape of everything’… Kelly Osbourne’s face transformation
KELLY Osbourne has sported many styles over the years and, this week, she stunned fans after revealing a new blonde, slimmed-down look.
But the 39-year-old’s altered appearance led many to question whether she jumped on the Ozempic train, like many others in Hollywood.

She underwent an EmSculpt treatment, which claims to strengthen loose skin on the abs, buttocks and face by using electromagnetic energy.
The sultry snap led fans to compare Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s daughter to The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak, 45.
Comments noted the uncanny likeness saying “I was gonna say, Kim Zolciak is doing too much” while others tagged the reality star in the picture.
Kelly’s most recent transformation is one in a long line of changes to her hair, face and body over the years.
2002 – Trolled as ‘fat’
As the daughter of the ‘Prince of Darkness’ himself, Kelly grew up in the public eye, bursting into the living rooms of the world in 2002 on the family’s reality TV show The Osbournes.
Immediately she was one of the stars, with Rolling Stone describing the then 17-year-old, as “a wickedly funny, brutally honest, pint-sized, potty-mouthed spitfire”.
The teenaged Kelly had her hair cropped short and dyed with a variation of colours from jet black to scarlet red or startling pink.
She was known for her rocker-inspired style often sporting chains, collared shirts or tiaras to juxtapose with her heavy eye makeup and pale complexion.
Even as a teenager, her weight was never far from the headlines.
Kelly was often filmed snacking in her home on The Osbourne’s, and she was aware of the way people spoke about her body, telling Rolling Stone “a lot of people think I’m really fat”.
And the public criticism took its toll on the star, who battled crippling self-esteem issues, and says “the voice in my head” told her: “You’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re not good enough, no one likes you.”
It led to her developing an addiction to Vicodin – a painkiller – and taking up to 50 pills a day. After going to rehab seven times, she managed to kick her addiction but realised she had switched drugs for food.
“I replaced the drugs with food and just got fatter and fatter… I’m an emotional eater,” she told Shape Magazine in 2010.
Kelly’s binge-eating and weight gain altered her facial appearance. It would take years and surgery for her to slim down.
2010 – Dancing it off
Five years on from The Osbournes first airing, Kelly sported a fuller frame in 2007[/caption]A 2009 stint in Dancing With The Stars led to a dramatic weight loss of 20lbs, thanks to cardio workouts and good diet.
“I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life,” she said in 2010.
“I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me.”
But she admitted she lacked motivation after the dance contest ended and began to put the weight back on.
“I didn’t like it one bit,” she said. “I thought, ‘Kelly, you’ve come this far, let’s see what you can really do!’ I would look at myself and think, ‘Ugh!’ To get to the gym, when you already don’t like yourself, is really hard.”
2018 – gastric sleeve
Kelly began to drop weight once again in 2018, going under the knife to have a gastric sleeve fitted.
She lost around six stone and, in 2020, said she had no regrets about the procedure whatsoever.
“I did it, I’m proud of it, they can suck s***. I did the gastric sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach,” she told hosts Dax Holt and Adam Glyn on the Hollywood Raw podcast.
“I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”
But she insisted it wasn’t just the gastric band that made her lose the weight.
Let’s squash these stupid rumours!!! Can’t you just be happy for me?

“The kind of surgery I had… if you don’t work out and you don’t eat right you gain weight. All it does is move you in the right direction,” she explained.

Kelly’s weight led to a drastically different facial structure, as dropping the pounds meant her buccal fat – the fat beneath the cheekbones – melted away.
She added: “It changed everything on my face! How the f*** did I not know about this sooner?”
In addition, Kelly had injections in her jaw to help her with temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) which causes jaw pain.
“It kind of made my jaw look skinnier. That’s when people started to notice I had really lost weight because it changed the shape of everything.”
She also admitted to getting injections in her forehead and filler in her lips in an Instagram post.
“Good morning everyone. I’m currently in hair and makeup right now,” she said to her followers.
“I just want to bring up a topic that you guys are talking about because I’m always really honest and really upfront about what I’ve done to my body and who I am.
“I have not had plastic surgery. I have never done anything to my face other than a couple of injections in my lips, in my jaw and in my forehead.
“I do not lie but thank you for the compliment.”

I think [Ozempic] is a miracle drug in the right hands but for some reason society is trying to paint it out to be a bad thing.

It led to an angry outburst from Kelly, who furiously penned: “Let’s squash these stupid rumours!!! Can’t you just be happy for me?”
She added: “It’s weird because now that I’ve lost weight, everybody is criticising and trying to figure out what it is that I’ve done, and I really just lost weight. It’s just the shape of my face.”

Earlier this year, Kelly strenuously denied ever taking the drug Ozempic, even though she hailed it as a “miracle drug” which helped mum Sharon shed the stones.
“I just have to clarify, I’ve never taken Ozempic. I don’t know what Ozempic does to you other than what I saw it do to my Mum,” she told People Magazine.
Ozempic is a drug used to lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, but recently it has been co-opted by those who can afford it as a weight loss drug.
