South Glens Falls carhop hosts grand reopening
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Mr. Bill's Carhop will host a grand reopening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, May 18. The drive-in restaurant's ownership changed hands in August 2023, and several investments have been made since then.
The reopening is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include face painting by Bubbles the Clown, a hula hoop demonstration, and will be broadcast live to WCKM. The deal of the day is a Zookie hot dog for 98 cents.
Changes to the carhop inflict a nostalgic feeling for patrons, according to owner Bea Greenough. The waitresses in poodle skirts and 1950s-inspired outdoor furniture are some things Greenough and her husband, Mike, transport customers back in time.
The Moreau Chamber of Commerce will help with the reopening and ribbon cutting alongside town and village officials. Orders can be placed on the Mr. Bill's Carhop website and the drive-in's normal hours of operation are everyday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
