Watch furious Aston Villa fan HEADBUTT barrier as Olympiacos supporters taunt him before Europa Conference League defeat
AN angry Aston Villa fan headbutted a barrier separating the travelling supporters from Olympiacos fans.
Fans from both teams gathered in the Karaiskakis Stadium way ahead of kick-off to soak up the atmosphere ahead of the Europa Conference League semi-final.
But some got a little carried away as they tried to goad and intimidate one another before kick-off.
Last week in the first leg Olympiacos taunted Villa fans by holding up signs of Birmingham’s crest – Aston Villa’s fierce rivals.
They did the same again on Thursday with some Villa fans responding in jest by holding up the Panathinaikos badge.
But tensions soon began to boil over and playful teasing became more aggressive as fans confronted each other near the dividing wall.
Supporters went head-to-head either side of the plexiglass – quite literally in the case of one Villa fan.
The individual in question began hitting the wall with his fists before bizarrely deciding to headbutt the plexiglass.
Fans on social media found the behaviour strange with one reacting saying: “Not the brightest of moves.”
Another added: “Headbutting a screen though, and why in so early…”

A third wrote: “Weird behaviour.”
And another commented: “Strange bunch.”
The night got worse for Villa fans as they were beaten 2-0, losing the tie 6-2 on aggregate.
