Chappell Roan Captivates in Retro-Goth Combat Boots at 2024 ASCAP Pop Music Awards
Chappell Roan was photographed at the 2024 ASCAP Pop Music Awards at The Houdini Estate in Los Angeles on Wednesday night in a chic pair of black combat boots.
Showcasing a retro punk style, boots are a constant theme in the musician’s closet when it comes to performances and events. This past February, the rising starlet performed on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in a pair of cream pointed-toe boots that featured a block heel ranging between 2 and 3-inches. She also adopted a pointed-toe shoe look for Universal Music Group’s GRAMMY After Party in Los Angeles that same month.
When the singer isn’t wearing elevated shoes of some kind, you can find her opting for comfier choices such as the over-the-knee flat boots worn for her December 2023 performance at Heaven nightclub in London, and the smooth platform sandals she sported in February 2023 for Universal Music Group’s 2023 After Party to celebrate the 65th Grammy Awards. Constructed with patent leather, the sandals boasted a strappy design that extended into her calf, and were finished in a neon green colorway.
About the Shoes
Roan elected to wear a pair of black lace-up combat boots for the 2024 ASCAP Pop Music Awards. Cut with leather, the shoes were crafted in rock n’ roll design with a unique detailing. The silhouette was rounded out with an over-the-knee finish, and a block heel that clocked in between 3-to-4 inches.
About Combat Boots
Combat boots have an extensive history, dating back to when they were solely used by soldiers as a utilitarian style to wear on the field. Specifically created for footwear protection and ankle support, the boots are made to be durable thanks to the grippy rubber soles most come with that adds an extra layer of traction. While the model is now used primarily for fashion purposes only, the military roots are still heavily present within their construction and overall design, making it a go-to footwear choice for year-round styling.
