Charli XCX dressed down her night of celebration with a more casual shoe at the 2024 ASCAP Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.
The “I Love It” hitmaker chose a black leather boot to go with her black and multi-colored gown. The slim, stiletto heel is approximately 4 inches and has a square toe. The soles are a light tan coloring with a piece of black rubber on the bottom of the heel. The boots sit right under the knee.
The 31-year-old was seen at the Houdini Estate in Los Angeles for the ASCAP Pop Music Awards where she received the Golden Impact Award on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Charli’s dress had a thigh-high slit which was perfect for popping out her leg to show off her boots. She was joined by U.S. composer and singer Paul Williams during her walk on the red carpet.
Boots are a staple in her wardrobe. In March 2022, the U.K. born singer wore a similar pair of black leather boots leaving a BBC London studio. She also wore a pair of leather pink boots that sat just under her knee in December of the same year at a Spotify event in Los Angeles and wore multiple colors of boots for a Fader Magazine shoot in 2016.
About the Shoes
Popularized in the ‘60 go-go era, knee-high boots leave the wearer’s knee exposed, but cover the calves. Often worn with skirts, the style is a wise choice in fall and winter for protecting the leg from the elements while still allowing the wearer to show some leg.
About the Trend
From platform to cowboy, combat boots and more this trend is offered in a wide variety of choices and colors. High end luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabana and Christian Louboutin offer boots for their customers as well as easier, comfy slip-on styles such as UGG and Timberland.
