Telangana Lok Sabha polls: BJP aims to capitalise on Modi-factor, BRS defections to counter Congress guarantees

Counting on the influence of Modi, the opposition BJP in Telangana is making a robust effort to surpass its prior achievement of securing four out of 17 seats in the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13. Despite assurances from the ruling Congress party, which are barely a year old, the BJP is aggressively campaigning to expand its presence. A stronger electoral performance would enable the saffron party to solidify its position in another southern state, besides Karnataka, and set its sights on winning the assembly in the future.
