I Tried Oprah’s ‘Favorite’ Spanx Pants & They’re as ‘Ultra-Flattering’ as She Says — My Bum Has Never Looked Better

As a shopping writer, nothing brings me greater joy than falling in love with a product and sharing the wonderful news with all of you, which brings me here today, my friends. I recently had the pleasure of trying out Spanx’s iconic high-rise Perfect Pants, and I’m absolutely obsessed. Given that they were once one of Oprah’s Favorite Things back in 2019, it should’ve been obvious that I would love them, but hey, I’m always a little skeptical when trying out viral products. After Oprah called them “ultra-flattering,” I was intrigued to see if they were as lovely as the mogul and everyone else claims to be. And let me tell you, she is oh-so-right.
There’s so much to love about these trousers I don’t even know where to begin. Like most of the clothing in the Perfect Collection, The Perfect Pant is outfitted with hidden shapewear technology around the waistline that holds you in and smoothes things out without being tight. I appreciate it because the older I get, the more I want to look “snatched” in my clothes, but shapewear is just too uncomfortable to have on daily. And while there is hidden shaping technology, these pants are still very stretchy — like incredibly stretchy, like your favorite leggings-kinda stretchy — but still look like stylish slacks that are appropriate for the office. These are a must for a girl in her mid-20s with limited workwear (hi, me).
But frankly, that’s not even the best part of these fantastic pants. In my opinion, where they really shine is their length. I’ve been tall my whole life, and finding pants that fit my now 33-inch inseam legs has always been a struggle, to say the least. Often, when brands say they make pants with tall inseams in mind, they still fall short on me. I love it when my pants are just a smidge too long because it gives me room to play with. The Perfect Pants come in three inseams — petite, regular, and tall — with the tall length having an inseam of 34.5 inches, which is perfect for me.
The second I slipped into these, I knew they would become my favorite pair. In fact, I’m actually wearing them as I write this. They’re so comfortable and look phenomenal. These pants fit me like a glove because of the hidden shaper core and stretchy fabric. They hug me in all the right places and accentuate my curves in the best way possible. Let me just say my bum has never looked this good in a pair of trousers yet! The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish there were pockets, but other than that, I have no complaints. I will be buying these pants in every color available in my size.
