AN ice-cream themed hotel has reopened in a popular seaside town – and is said to be the first of it’s kind in the UK.

ibis Styles Bournemouth is near East Cliff right next to both the beaches and the town centre.

There is also a dedicated ice cream bar inside

The hotel recently underwent a huge refurbishment to become the UK’s first ice-cream themed resort.

Rooms have been inspired by flavours such as mint choc chip, berry and Tutti Frutti.

This includes wallpaper that looks like chocolate chip ice cream, as well as pink ‘berry’ accents and minty colours.

Each room has it’s own coffee and tea making facilities as well as a microwave and ensuite bathroom.

However, you can choose between The Compact, the smallest room at 9m2 but still has a double bed and bath, up to The Works, a 24m2 room with a queen size bed and sofa bed.

Guests can dine at the on-site restaurant with a full dinner and breakfast menu.

Of course, there is also fresh ice cream on offer made by Purbeck, who won Gold Taste of the West Awards earlier this year.

A coffee shop serving Starbucks is on-site, as well as the Bar Dolce which has regular happy hours.

The website states: “The ibis Styles Bournemouth takes inspiration from the local beach environment, so guests can enjoy sunny seaside vibes from the first moment.”

Previous guests have raved about the hotel, especially the friendly staff” with clean rooms.

Another person wrote: “Their Bar Dolce happy hour is just what you need for your afternoon before going clubbing.”

Rooms start from just £61 a night, which works out to around £30pp.

We’ve reviewed some other Ibis hotels including Ibis Styles in South West London as well as London Heathrow Airport’s Ibis Styles.

It’s not just ice-cream themed hotels in Bournemouth you can visit.

There is also a chocolate-themed hotel, which has free daily truffles.

Aptly named The Chocolate Boutique Hotel, guests can even go on sweet-making classes and request chocolate-themed hampers and fountains.

And as part of the Sun’s new Best of British series, we spoke to locals in Bournemouth for their top tips.

Here’s everything you need to know, from the best pubs to empty beaches.

How to stay safe in hot weather

The UK Health Security Agency advised you follow these tips to reduce your risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke:

  • Keep out of the sun at the hottest time of the day, between 11am and 3pm
  • If you are going to do a physical activity like exercising or walking the dog, plan to do these during times of the day when it is cooler such as the morning or evening
  • Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
  • If you go outside, cover up with light clothing, a hat and sunglasses and slather on sun cream
  • Drink plenty of fluids but limit booze
  • Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them
  • Check on family, friends and neighbours who may be at higher risk of becoming unwell, and if you are at higher risk, ask them to do the same for you
