Explosion in Sivakasi firecracker manufacturing facility; seven dead

The blast took place in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district, a hotspot for firecracker manufacture and witness to many similar incidents over the years. Earlier this year, in February, 10 people died in Vembakkottai block's Ramuthevanpatti when employees of a firecracker factory were mixing chemicals for fancy crackers.
