Brooklyn bakery makes Knicks rainbow cookies for playoffs
WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) – The Knicks playoff run just got a lot sweeter, thanks to one of Brooklyn’s most beloved bakeries.
Fortunato Brothers, a family-owned Italian bakery in Williamsburg, turned its famed rainbow cookies blue and orange to celebrate the Knicks’ playoff run. It’s a perfect ode given the color won’t change the flavor at all, according to owner Biagio Fortunato.
“What better way than with rainbow cookies,” Fortunato said.
The specialty rainbow cookies, which sell for $25 per pound, will stick around in-store and for delivery as long as the Knicks are in the playoffs, Fortunato said.
When the Knicks played the 76ers last week, Fortunato Brothers teamed up with nearby Carmine & Sons Pizzeria and Sports Bar to handout three rainbow cookies to hungry customers coming to watch the game.
The bakery in April also made a specialty rainbow cookie for the New York Rangers.
