FRENCH tips or perhaps an all-white moment – just some of the most popular choices when it comes to getting a pedicure.

But over in Los Angeles, the USA, it seems the hottest summer trend of the year are pickle-inspired toes that look like you have fungus on your feet.

Yes, that’s right – a 3D nail art depicting crunchy pickles and even a jar of the cult favourite cupboard staple painted on your nails.

Whilst many of us are choosing an ombré design or opting for more vibrant colours, the music producer Benny Blanco recently left social media users totally horrified with his pickle toes.

The 36-year-old, who’s dating the American singer and actress Selena Gomez, 31, is reported to have even asked the nail tech to paint the girlfriend’s favourite pickle brand too, Yahoo! said earlier.

Benny, real name Benjamin Joseph Levin, proudly showed off his new pedicure in an Instagram post from nail technician @nailedbytav.

The star, who began dating Selena midway through 2023, shared close-up snaps of his pickle feet via Instagram Stories.

Both of his big toes included the logo of Selena’s favorite pickle brand — Best Maid Pickles – whilst the rest of the toes included intricate and realistic nail art to resemble pickles.

Stunned and in total shock, fans flooded the nail tech’s post to share their thoughts on Benny’s new toes, as well as his dedication to the 31-year-old.

“This guy is committed af [as f**k],” wrote one user, as another chimed described the duo as ”couple goals”.

“Such a good job! I love that those are her favourite pickles, he committed asf [as f**k] if u ask me. Love that for my queen,” one user added.

”Nothing says love like getting your girls pickles on your toes,” a social media user chuckled.

2024 Nail Trends

LAST year saw us painting our nails in all the colours of the rainbow. But what will we be asking our nail techs for in 2024?

According to Kim Truong, celebrity nail artist, the ‘dark academia’ trend will see the rise of dark, grungy colours.

Nail technician Malkia Brown claimed that shimmering nails are set to be huge in 2024.

Trang Ho, a nail educator from Australia, explained that the abstract nail trend is set to prove popular this year.

Meanwhile, Julita Fagan, a nail expert from the UK, predicted a rise in the ‘blush’ nail trend.

At the same time, a nail salon founder form Amsterdam, Carolina Lopez Roque, predicted that classic red nails are making a comeback.

But not everyone appreciated the romantic gesture, as many were horrified by the rather bizarre design.

”Omg no, it looks like they have fungus,” one person wrote.

”That might be a step too far!” someone else also wasn’t a fan of the pickle aesthetic.

A mum joked: ”Just sent this to my daughter who has permanent damage on her big toe when a gallon pickle jar fell on it.”

The design also included Selena’s favourite pickle brand

Heading for your monthly visit to the nail shop?

Here are a few tips to clip the costs of your next manicure.

TRIM IT TO WIN IT

Regularly maintain your nails at home by following a basic routine of trimming and filing on a frequent basis.

This will prevent the need for costly repairs or treatments at the salon.

ADD MOISTURE

Look after your nails and fingers by hydrating and nourishing them with products containing ingredients such as vitamin E and jojoba oil.

Beauty buffs can order Vitamin E oil at Amazon for as little as £2.99.

GO FOR GEL

Gel tends to last longer and is chip-free, so requires less frequent touch-ups compared to traditional nail varnish.

How To Save Money On Beauty Buys

IF your purse is feeling tighter than ever before and you're looking to save cash on your make-up routine, have you ever thought of trying out beauty dupes?

Here’s five of the best recommended beauty buys that are almost identical to the posh versions, but for a fraction of the price.

FACE BASE: If you can’t afford Charlotte Tilbury‘s £52 Magic Cream, why not try a dupe that costs just £5.49 from Superdrug?

TONE IT UP: If Drunk  Elephant’s £62 Protini moisturiser is out of your price range, you’ll need to check out the new dupe in Home Bargains.

TINTING IT: With Fenty’s ‘game-changer’ skin tint costing an eye-watering £29, a popular supermarket’s affordable alternative might just be the thing for you.

GET COVERED: At £29 for a Tarte concealer, the new Primark dupe is much more affordable at just £3.50.

SPRAY YAY: For those wanting to smell fresh, without the price tag, Aldi’s new Prada and Chloe perfume dupes cost a fraction of the price.
