Portland drenched now, but warm temps coming soon

0

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Monday's forecast calls for scattered rain showers across Portland with mostly cloudy conditions. PDX could see upwards of a half-inch of rain on Monday, while our daytime highs will once again be at least 10 degrees below normal as we kickoff the new week.

Through the first four days of May, we already totaled more than an inch and a half of rain in Portland. Which of course, is great news in helping out with the drought conditions. Don't forget – for the month of April we were more than an inch below our average rainfall for the month.

But big changes are just around the corner. Wednesday, a strengthening ridge of high pressure will start to build over the PNW and thus, drier skies will return along with more seasonal temps.

And then late in the week, we'll look to enjoy the first 80-degree weather of the year.

Yes, we're looking at quite the swing in daytime highs this week.
