Hello Friends,

20-30 kts of SE wind pretty much obliterating surf options, but if you didn’t mind endless duck diving, there were a few makeable sections on the inside at the south end of Dee Why beach this morning. While there was some size thanks to an occasional SSE set, for the most part the waves were just short period chop. From the look of the forecast it’ll be a bit less windy tomorrow, but the swell may fade back a bit too. Protected south corners are the go. Wind is forecast to dial back in the latter half of the work week and this weekend could potentially see fun conditions.

Water quality is dodgy to bad along the beaches thanks to all the rain. And speaking of which, the Bureau tells us to expect lots more of the same through to Sunday – at least.

Your correspondent remains somewhat constrained, so my surf reports are likely to be spotty for awhile yet. I’m hoping to be more mobile by the end of the week, in which case it’ll be easier to check the beach for you.
