On Camera: Masked Men Storm Meerut Businessman’s Office, Fire Shots; 4 Held

Uttar Pradesh Crime: In a shocking incident, a businessman in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut city had a narrow escape after masked attackers tried to storm his office, apparently in an attempt to kill him, and opened fire at the premises before fleeing the spot.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the office of the businessman, identified as Jameel Ahmed, showing four masked men storming the premises and firing several rounds. However, their efforts to harm Ahmed are thwarted by the businessman and two other men present at the office who hurl chairs and other furniture at the attackers to defend themselves, forcing the assailants to flee the scene.

As per the police, the attack was the fallout from an altercation between the main accused, Deepak, and Jameel Ahmed at a gym following which, the former, accompanied by three of his friends, broke into Ahmed’s office and opened fire at him.

In an official statement of their official X handle, Meerut Police said all four accused, identified as Prince, Ritik, Deepak and Sehwag, all aged between 19-22 years, have been arrested and a case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“There was a fight between two parties in the gym. In connection with the firing incident that followed, a case has been registered at Inchauli police station and 4 accused involved in the incident have been arrested and sent to jail,” the Meerut Police posted on X.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the firing incident, said an official, adding that further investigation in the case is underway.
