Braves place RHP Pierce Johnson (elbow) on IL

The Atlanta Braves placed reliever Pierce Johnson on the 15-day injured list on Saturday with elbow inflammation, while the contract of fellow right-hander Jackson Stephens was selected from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Johnson's IL move is retroactive to Wednesday. To open a spot on the 40-man roster for Stephens, left-hander Angel Perdomo (elbow) was moved to the 60-day IL.
