After some Midwest storms, we have a gorgeous evening in Kansas City as the Royals begin a three-game series against the defending champion Texas Rangers. The Rangers are 7-6 on the road so far this year. Last year they swept the series in Kauffman Stadium.
Brady Singer takes to hill after posting a 2.62 ERA in April, the third-best month of his career. He’s given up one or fewer runs in three starts this year, and struck out a season-high six last time out against the Tigers.

Michael Lorenzen starts for the Rangers tonight, coming off an All-Star season with the Tigers. He had a 2.89 ERA against the Royals last year in three starts.
The Rangers called up Yerry Rodriguez from Triple-A to join the bullpen, with Nathan Eovaldi going on the Injured List.
