Kiisa emergency power plant to undergo maintenance until end of January

The Kiisa emergency reserve power plant, which is owned by system operator Elering, is set to undergo maintenance work until the end of January. From January 25 until February 3, electricity will only flow from Finland to Estonia via EstLink 1 due to the construction of the Lihula substation.

Sony Japan ends production of recordable Blu-rays with ‘no successor’ planned

Sony is officially ending production of recordable Blu-rays. In an announcement from Japan spotted by Tom’s Hardware, Sony Storage Media Solutions said it will stop manufacturing the discs in February, alongside recordable MiniDiscs, MD-Data, and MiniDV cassettes, adding, “there will be no successor models.”

Pragnell profits and revenues surge in FY24

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has updated its civil services examination rules, making it mandatory for candidates to submit supporting documents for age, category, and reservation-related claims during the application process. This change follows a controversy involving a former IAS probationer. The 2025 exam will fill around 979 vacancies, with reserved spots for persons with disabilities, scheduled categories, and economically weaker sections.
