AIBOC announced a nationwide strike on February 24-25 to demand a 5-day work week and adequate recruitment in all cadres. They urge the immediate withdrawal of DFS directives on performance review and PLI that threaten job security. The union also seeks the appointment of workmen/officer directors in PSBs and the resolution of pending issues with IBA.

World Baseball Classic Qualifiers to be played in Taipei and Tucson, media can apply for credentials

Chinese Taipei, Nicaragua, South Africa and Spain will compete for two spots at the Taipei Dome from February 21 to 25. Brazil, China, Colombia and Germany will compete for the other two spots at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson from March 2 to 6. Media accreditation deadlines are February 7 for the Taipei group and February 28 for the Tucson games.
