Italy plans $1.5 billion SpaceX telecom security services deal

Italy is negotiating with SpaceX to provide secure telecommunications services for the government in a €1.5 billion, five-year deal. This deal would include encryption for telephone and internet services, military communication services, and emergency satellite services. The project has been cleared by Italy's Intelligence Services and Defense Ministry.
