Ludhiana drug bust: Smuggler with Pakistan links held, over 5kg heroin seized

Ludhiana police arrested Kanwarpal Singh, a drug smuggler with cross-border links to Pakistan, recovering over 5 kg of heroin. Arrested Italian reporter planned 'balanced coverage' of Iran, journalist says

Italian journalist Cecilia Sala who was detained by police over a week ago in Iran was planning to do a "balanced coverage" of the country by reporting on the "facts and realities on the ground", FRANCE 24 Correspondent Saeed Azimi said. Azimi said he met with Sala three days before her arrest in the presence of a translator from an Iranian mediator agency.

Bangladesh imposes restrictions on journalists' access to Secretariat

The Bangladeshi interim government has revoked journalists' accreditation cards for security reasons, restricting their access to the Secretariat. This measure follows a student-led movement that ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a recent fire incident. Temporary daily access cards will be issued by respective ministries for press events. The government will review and reissue press accreditation cards soon.
