Italy's privacy watchdog fined OpenAI 15 million euros for using personal data to train ChatGPT without a legal basis and violating transparency principles. The Garante found OpenAI didn't adequately inform users about data collection for algorithm training. This follows a temporary ban on ChatGPT in Italy last year over similar privacy concerns.
