Almost a year after the famous Iranian hip-hop artist Toomaj Salehi was arrested over his lyrics about the 2022 death of Mahsa Amini, the rapper was released today. The Grammy winner was detained for the first time in 2022 following mass protests after the death of Amini. He spent time in and out of jail and said in a video message that he was tortured during detention, which led to his arrest in November 2023
