Overall coal production hits 90.62 million tonnes in November 2024: Coal Ministry

India's coal production reached 90.62 million tonnes in November 2024, a 7.20% increase from last year. Production from captive entities also rose significantly by 37.69% year-on-year. Additionally, coal dispatches recorded steady growth, reflecting India's efforts towards self-sufficiency and reduced reliance on imports, despite a continued need for certain types of coal.

UPI payments see dip in November as festive fervour recedes

Payments through the UPI platform decreased by 7% in volume to 15.48 billion transactions in November. The transaction value also fell by 8% to Rs 21.55 trillion. October saw the highest transactions since UPI's launch in 2016. On a yearly basis, there was a 38% growth in volume and 24% growth in transaction value.
