SC junks pleas challenging words 'socialist', 'secular' in Preamble to Constitution

The Supreme Court dismissed challenges to the 1976 constitutional amendment adding "socialist", "secular", and "integrity" to the Preamble. The court rejected arguments against the retrospective nature of the amendment, stating it applies to all amendments. The pleas were filed by Subramanian Swamy and others, questioning the inclusion of "socialist" and "secular".
