Calcutta HC directs state govt to ensure peace in city during festive season

The Calcutta High Court instructed the West Bengal government to maintain peace during the festive season. The court's directive followed a petition filed by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari concerning post-Kali Puja tensions. The court scheduled a follow-up hearing for November 21. Adhikari alleged attacks on Durga Puja celebrations and requested an NIA probe.
