Republicans are getting so weird about overseas voters

Daily Kos

When it comes to overseas voters, the Trump campaign can’t quite decide what to do. On one hand, Donald Trump wants their votes. On the other, he thinks they are traitorous scumbags who are part of a vast voter-fraud scheme. The Yankees are back to being enemy #1

Royals Review

Sangre por sangre.

Thursday night, after attending the Royals’ season-ending defeat to the Yankees in Game Four of the ALDS, I immediately planned on writing an article about how the Yankees had once again become the Royals’ and Royals fans’ biggest enemy.

However, I stopped myself. I did not want to write something so quickly after the loss, something that was sure to be drawn quick from the hip, something brash. Something wrong.

Instead... Читать дальше...

Joanópolis House / Vão

Archdaily.com

The site on the edge of the Jaguari dam, with a wide view of the Serra do Lopo, made it clear that Joanópolis House should establish a strong relationship with the landscape. However, the built context, close to the neighboring houses, suggested just the opposite. Out of this contradiction, a binuclear layout was designed, where one nucleus proposes a connection with the outside world and the other with the intimate universe. The need to create an internal courtyard to abstract from the surroundings... Читать дальше...

Do morphogenetic switching and intraspecies variation enhance virulence of Candida auris?

Plos.org

by Trinh Phan-Canh, Karl Kuchler

Intraspecies variations that affect pathogenicity and antifungal resistance traits pose a serious obstacle to efficient therapy of Candida auris infections. Recent reports indicate that mutations determine drug susceptibility and virulence. However, mutations alone cannot fully explain a bewildering variety of phenotypes in clinical isolates from known C. auris clades, suggesting an unprecedented complexity underlying virulence traits and antifungal resistance.
