HAL's 'Maharatna' tag gets Finance Minister Sitharaman's nod

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has sanctioned the elevation of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to the status of the 14th Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE). The proposal previously received endorsement from both the Inter-Ministerial Committee, led by the Finance Secretary, and the Apex Committee, chaired by the Cabinet Secretary.
