Ghana Mine Workers Union has reaffirmed its plan to go on strike on October 1, unless the government intervenes at the last minute. Speaking to Citi News, the union rsquo;s General Secretary, Abdul Gbaana, stressed the need for urgent action to address the escalating issue of illegal mining, known as galamsey.

Gov't will pilot solar powered outboard motors at Elmina in October — Bawumia

The government will launch solar-powered outboard motors for fishers across the country in October this year, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has announced. The motors would be piloted in Elmina in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Constituency of the Central Region next month, during which fishers would be trained on how they operated.
