New details revealed in alleged Trump assassination plot

Federal prosecutors revealed new details of the alleged plot to kill former President Donald Trump in Florida. According to a new filing, the suspect, Ryan Routh arrived in Florida weeks before his arrest, and gave someone a letter about "an assassination attempt." A federal judge in ordered Routh to be held in jail until his trial starts. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III over the weekend reaffirmed the United States' commitment to Israel's right to defend itself following a series of rocket attacks by Lebanese Hezbollah, the Pentagon announced Monday. 

Austin expressed DOD's support during separate phone calls with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Saturday and Sunday evening, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder told the news media.
