Canada is “absolutely” going to follow the U.S. move to ban hardware and software for vehicles from China or Russia, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said Tuesday. “Our government has made it very clear that we take really seriously intentional Chinese overcapacity and we take very seriously the security threat from China,” she said.

The Supreme Court has rejected Venugopal Dhoot's appeal to restrain lenders from dealing with foreign oil and gas assets in Videocon Oil Ventures Ltd's insolvency proceedings. The court did not direct the NCLAT to expedite the issue but allowed it to be taken up on joint request. Dhoot argued that delaying interim orders could render his appeal ineffective.
