Hovde Whines That Newspaper Published Article About His Bank

Crooks and Liars  

Just a couple of days ago, we shared a report written by Dan Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about Eric Hovde's California bank and how they had done over $26 million deal with Banco Azteca, a bank that has had compliance problems and questionable dealings of their own. In the article, Bice went to great pains to make it clear that no one was accusing Hovde or his bank of any wrongdoing. Bice also dutifully wrote down what Hovde and his people had to say.

Israel, Hezbollah trade rocket fire and threats

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah increased sharply in recent days, after an Israeli airstrike on Beirut killed a senior Hezbollah official, Ibraim Aqil, as well as dozens of others. On Sunday, Hezbollah fired more than 150 rockets at Israel, damaging homes in northern Israel, and sparking fires. Israel continued to fire barrages of rockets at Lebanon. Linda Gradstein reports from Jerusalem.

Round 'em up: Eight bulls escape a Massachusetts rodeo and charge through a mall parking lot

This is no bull: First responders in a Massachusetts city had to exercise some impromptu roundup skills when eight bulls escaped from a rodeo. Video posted online captured the moment on Sunday when the bulls escaped from the rodeo at a mall parking lot in North Attleboro. The bulls charged through the crowded parking lot, knocking down fencing, bumping against a tent and rumbling away. The North Attleboro Fire Department issued a warning that the bulls were dangerous.
