At Mercedes-Benz India, vehicles priced upwards of Rs 1.5 crore accounted for 25% of total sales so far this year, up from 15% two years earlier, said Santosh Iyer, chief executive of the local unit of the German luxury-vehicle maker. Meanwhile, the share of entry-level luxury cars, priced between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 60 lakh, declined 10 percentage points to 15%, with mid-range vehicles priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore comprising the remaining 60% of sales at the luxury-market leader.
