Drone footage of tram towards St Andrews (7 replies)

Wouldn't it be great if the tram extension carried on to Wheels? It currently stops just past the Crown pub, but it could link up the Blues new ground to HS2, Snow Hill, the coach station and New Sreet station.

Knighthead will absolute pony up some cash to at least get the Digbeth tram extension up to Wheels.

I think all large infrastructure plans now need to come with transport provision.

Not sure it'll go any further than that for a long time however which is a shame. More of a priority should be extending the Edgbaston branch down to Quinton and a new Nottingham Tram style Park and ride near the business park and motorway junction there, which has been mooted a few times.

I know the significance of the Harry Lauder story and the origins of KRO - and would never disrespect that.

But wouldn’t it be brilliant if Blues would commission a modern remake of the “slow KRO” to replace the scratchy 1930s (?) version.

Ideally sung by a capable and mildly famous tenor (is there a Brummie one out there?).

The rendition on Monday was spine tingling. This would be the icing on the cake - and would stand the test of time for years to come.
