Rs 31,000 cr to be spent to fence 1,643 km India-Myanmar border

The Indian government plans to fence the entire 1,643 km India-Myanmar border at a cost of Rs 31,000 crore to curb smuggling and violence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that 30 km of fencing is complete. The India-Myanmar Free Movement Regime has been scrapped, and additional security measures are being implemented in Manipur.
