Argentina dispatches a research cruise on Patagonian toothfish

Argentina has launched a research cruise on Patagonian tooth fish (Dissostichus eleginoides) to collect more information on the reproduction physiology of the species. The fishing factory vessel San Arawa II left Ushuaia with a team of scientists from INIDEP, the Mar del Plata based Fisheries Research and Development Institute, and the cruise is expected to last some three weeks.

Hyundai launches new Alcazar; SUVs now account for 67% of its overall sales

Hyundai Motor India on Monday said its sports utility vehicle portfolio accounts for 67 per cent of its overall sales, surpassing the industry average of 53 per cent. The company, which on Monday introduced a new version of its seven seater SUV Alcazar, said SUV sales continue to see an upward trend in the country. "As India's love for SUVs grows, our SUV penetration continues to grow. Pound speculators net long positions at 5-week high

Large currency speculators continue to increase net long position in the Pound futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Pound futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 108078 contracts in the data reported through September 03, 2024. This was a weekly increase of 18147 net contracts and at its highest level in 5 weeks.

GST on online transactions up to Rs 2,000 to be referred to fitment committee: Uttarakhand FM Premchand Aggarwal

Uttarakhand Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal stated that the GST Council did not reach a decision on imposing 18 per cent GST on payment aggregators for transactions under Rs 2,000. The matter will be reviewed by the fitment committee. Additionally, the issue of GST on Research and Development will also be referred to the committee. Aggarwal announced a reduction in GST on religious helicopter travel from 18 per cent to 5 per cent.
