Economy: Draghi urges EU to catch up rivals or face 'slow agony'

The European Union needs far more coordinated industrial policy, more rapid decisions and massive investment if it wants to keep pace economically with rivals the United States and China, Mario Draghi said on Monday in a long awaited report. The European Commission asked the former European Central Bank chief and Italian prime minister a year ago to write a report on how the EU should keep its greening and more digital economy competitive at a time of increased global friction. German startup Cylib starts building Europe’s largest EV battery recycling plant

German startup Cylib has broken ground on its first industrial-scale battery recycling plant, just months after it raised €55mn in the largest-ever funding round for a European battery recycling company.  The state-of-the-art facility, located at Chempark on the outskirts of Düsseldorf, will spread across three football pitches. The deadline date to challenge ITIA doping verdict against Sinner nears

Time is running out for appeals to be filed in the case that exonerated freshly-crowned US Open champion Jannik Sinner from doping. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and Nado Italia, Italy's anti-doping agency, likely have only one more day to challenge the decision announced by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) on August 20. There is a 21-day window to appeal that started when the parties received the decision. Any appeal would be filed to the Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Читать дальше...
