There’s s a write up on Ashley in the Telegraph. Nothing new in it really. Has a passion for coaching (particularly retaining possession from throw ins???) is well liked and respected everywhere he’s coached. Has an interesting past. Doesn't give interviews.

I assumed he was a Rooney appointment but the article says he was the clubs choice, might explain how he survived the upheaval, including initially being given the bums rush by Rowett.
