Neighbors can be annoying. They may be loud or intrude on your space. But is it worth fighting with them? Parrotfish choose not to.
In a new study published in the journal Ecology, a CU Boulder researcher and his collaborator revealed that the spotlight parrotfish, a brightly colored species found in the shallow waters off Florida and in the Caribbean Sea, behave more tolerantly toward neighboring parrotfish but aggressively toward strangers.
